Historical images from the beautiful Llandudno, Conwy & Colwyn Bay area of North Wales

ARNE HALL, CRAIGSIDE, LLANDUDNO
"Arne Hall was built in mock Tudor style for the famous Tate and Lyle sugar family in about 1880, at a time when Llandudno was just being developed as an important seaside resort. With commanding views across Llandudno bay it was the first major building at Craigside and was originally called Summerhill. The legend has it that one of the wives of the family used to watch out with a telescope, from the tower, for their sugar boats on their way into Liverpool from the West Indies."
