I had a walk on the Old Colwyn beach today and it has been ages since I was last there but I noticed that in parts the sand level has dropped quite a bit.   There was also serious damage to part of the sea wall near the turn off to the A55 and I presume that was caused by the recent storm

This spectacular murmuration of starlings above a historic pier is an absolute wonder to behold
The birds put on a stunning display for passers-by earlier this week.

£1.5m of lottery money has been given to five projects to boost local economies through heritage projects.
The Great Place scheme aims to promote an area's history, increase tourism and provide education opportunities.
It is a UK-wide pilot scheme being run by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

"Imagine - Colwyn Bay, Conwy, £400,000
Money will be spent supporting the creative industries, including developing an academy for engineers, historians, architects, artists, poets and film makers, among others."

Entitled IMAGINE Colwyn Bay, the project has the support and financial commitment of the Bay of Colwyn Town Council and the Colwyn Business Improvement District.

So, there’s working people going to food banks, and we are funding academies for poetry?
Is it me, or has the world got its priorities all wrong?

I thought the same, and wondered if anyone would pick up on that, there seems to be grants for everything but, what is really necessary.

But poetry is the food of love.

I believe that’s ‘if music be the food of love, play on’

Someone needs to read Jane Austen!
“I have been used to consider poetry as "the food of love" said Darcy.

More snow this morning at 7.00am but thankfully the rain is clearing it away,   typical Bank Holiday weather!

The operators of the new kiosk on Colwyn Bay promenade have been named by Conwy council.

Tracy and Mark Mansfield, who previously ran the bouncy castle concession by Rhos on Sea paddling pool, have successfully secured the concession.
Construction of the kiosk is due to be completed at the end of May and it will open before the summer holidays.

We got on the 1946 Crosville bus on Sunday, from Rhos to CB, it was a joy to travel in the old thing.
Sadly though, only a very few diehards were there to enjoy the Armed Forces day in the drizzle.
The jazz musicians were playing to nobody.
The stall holders were packing up at 2pm.
Perhaps it was very much busier on Saturday when the weather was much better?

It was a nice sunny day in the Bay today and the stretch between the Pier and the skip was busy with lots of people taking advantage of the weather and doing watersports.
