Thanks very much for posting the link Steve,         $good$
I'll have a dabble with it later.      That red helicopter I saw last night did land somewhere near me because I heard the rotor starting up again just before it left for Gwynedd.
I'm sure that I'll find out more on the jungle drums at the shop tomorrow.

H. Todays helicopter is SAR 936 Coastguard rescue based,in Caernarfon, the one you mentioned yesterday, I had a look on Flight tracker, it did not give any details, but, flew from Tudweiliog to your area, circled for bit, then headed back.?

I think I mentioned Flight Tracker before, but just in case......  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login     and if you click on the plane icon you are interested in, it will give you info. and flight path.   ££$

I've only just found out about the helicopter, it was the air ambulance and had come to the area with all the other emergency services to help someone who was seriously ill.    Sadly he died and the Air Ambulance was no longer needed.
He was a really nice guy and we became friends after we walked our dogs together.     He'll be missed by all those people that knew him.

It was a lovely sunset tonight and I took this photo from my balcony.    The land on the right of the picture is the Isle of Man and on the far left above the Little Orme is Ireland

Thanks for sharing, Hugo.

I never knew before that it was possible to see Ireland.

Given the right conditions, Bri, and the right altitude of the observer, it's possible to see Scotland - or at least the highest peaks.

I can also see Scotland from here,  one Winter's day the Cumbrian Hills were so clear you could see the snow on the peaks quite clearly with the naked eye.
We noticed that to the left of the hills were the Scottish lowlands and they were also covered in snow and we are guessing that the area we can see in Scotland is the Solway Firth area

I seem to remember on a holiday in the Isle of Man many years ago that there was a claim that from the top of Snaefell (IOM's highest peak) you could see six kingdoms ... Manx, Welsh, English, Scottish and Irish ... and the kingdom of heaven.

Seems Hugo can claim the same!

A couple of powered para gliders flew overhead this evening and they were very high up and heading in the direction of Llandudno.    By the time I got my camera out I was lucky to just get a couple of fuzzy photos of one of them.
