Also that arch is at an angle so you have to go over to the wall on the right and then cross back to the left wall as you go through the arch. Very intimidating for the coach drivers who aren't used to it.
As Quiggs has said, it is easy to spot which are the local buses & coaches.

They weren't very forward looking, these medieval castle builders were they?

Could they not foresee that in 800 years time there might be public transport vehicles where would be much wider than a horse and cart?  &shake&

Of course they were! Look how they anticipated the coming of the railways by building that archway.

The particular arch (on the Gyffin Road) isn't original, it must be post 1800 as there's no sign of it on this map:

That tunnel was built specifically for the railway.  The Council agreed the Railways could breach the wall after a lot of wrangling as the council was very protective over the walls at that time,  the Council also said the Railway company had to re build the tower, you can see from the picture below the difference in colour.

Anyone know if there's going to be a Conwy Music festival this year?  I haven't seen any mention.

Did anyone go down to see the Olympic Torch coming through Conwy today?  Was it right that the torch bearer was Russian?  If so whose piggin' idea was that?  Surly these people should be local to the area, I thought that was the point.
