Question about Christmas Eve fireworks that perhaps someone can answer: Let's say someone had some rockets left over from Nov 5th and wanted to launch them after the usual Christmas Eve fireworks display at the castle ...where could one legally launch said firework rockets in a way that could enhance peoples walk home without incurring the wrath of the local police force?

The little Welsh Bistro in Conwy by the police station is the one of the best places I've ever eaten, you have to be quick to book though   $dins$

If you can't get in to the one in Conwy, they also have another Bistro in Betws y Coed just opposite Pont-y-Pair Bridge and just like Conwy the food there is fantastic

The one in Conwy is no longer anything to do with the one in Betws Y Coed. The Betws Y Coed one is still run by the original owners of the Conwy one, if that makes sense.

Not any more. Incidentally, the owners, Andrea & Paul, were also leading lights in local band 'Melys'

The Festers have been to the Conwy Late Knight Shopping event tonight.

It has been excellently publicised and my congratulations go to the organisers.

I can't say that the tills were ringing very loudly in the shops, but as an event it was very well done.

There were Knights re-enacting battles, there was a medieval torchlight parade, street vendors ..a hog roast (my favourite), lots of fancy dress, jousting for the kids, charity auction... carollers, brass band....and so it goes on.
There was an RNLI team collecting funds by getting locked in medieval stocks and getting pelted by cold, soaking wet sponges.  Fair play to them.

I'm a lousy photographer but I'll put a couple on here anyway.

I really hope they repeat this event in future years.....it will grow in popularity.

I'm in Conwy at the moment and it's pretty quiet. There's just me in Coffee Illy, having a chat with the manager. Perhaps everyone has spent their money last night?!

The medieval parade was indeed small but very pleasant. It reminded me of how intimate the Christmas Eve gatherings used to be in Conwy many years ago.

I was out and about on Saturday the 11th. Cineworld was a tomb! Saturday night you'd expect the place to be rammed but it was as quiet as I've ever seen it. In Conwy the streets were empty at night as well. Very eerie. But I guess everyone is saving their money for xmas presents and the like. No spare cash for cinema or pints...
