It would appear that Aldi are planning on closing their Llandudno store, as it is shown as being available to let. Rental is £245,000 per year:

Wow, seems a lot. Makes me wonder how Superbowl manae to stay in business. The place is always empty midweek and isn't exactly heaving on the weekends anymore either

I've always wondered about the Superbowl, as well. Amazing how it keeps going.

I hope Aldi doesn't close as it's on the way back from my gym and is the only shop round there that is open till 8pm so it's easy to nip in and grab a few bits. If they do close hope it gets taken over by a similiar shop though - a poundshop like the one in the Bay wouldn't be a bad idea. It's way better than the one in Mostyn Street.

It's also arguably the best of the supermarkets for bargains and even quality of own-brand product in many cases .

Probably because it is German and the Germans are very fussy about their diet and food.   I regard their products as excellent, and the Stollen is to die for (so I understand as it is off my eating list!).     L0L

This is very worrying.
La Senza and Aldi are major national and international brands... with more quality jobs going down the tubes in Llandudno.
To lose another 2 such stores so soon is really symptomatic of how bad the economy really is.
When will we be told the REAL truth about Unemployment AND Inflation??   :rage:

I buy quite a lot from Aldi, and its always busy.  Strange decision.
I obviously buy less from La Senza, but still buy a little something for Mrs F at Christmas.

I wonder what Parc Llandudno management and the local chamber of commerce (if such a thing exists) propose to do about the dwindling quality retail situation in this area?

Sorry Fester, but whenever I have been in Aldi, it hasn't exactly been busy. Never seen more than two tills open - perhaps I choose the very quiet operating times!!

It is worrying if a store that provides essential items closes, everybody needs foodstuff
and it's not unusual to only have two tills open Stan, most Aldis often only have one open except at busy times
unlike most supermarkets their staff really do have to multitask.

:( J D Sports next to the Town House is moving into La Senza,of course that will kill that end again with Alworths on the way out and Hoosons chemist due to close it does;nt look good. This of course will feed the i blame Parc LLANDUDNO BRIGADE,yes it has;nt helped but every town has empty shops at the moment, although Bangor with its new Dunhelm Mill and TK Makk is doing very well. *&(
