Indeed. I've always thought it would make a great food orientated pub, in the same vein as the Pen Y Bryn in Upper Colwyn Bay.

The Parade Pub on Church Walks has finally shut down. Mick is concentrating on Cooneys and a pub in Rhyl.

It's a big disappointment, especially in a Conservation Area - very garish:

Anyone know what happened to young Rob Skelley. His parents Bob and Eunice were good friends of my Father and I got to know him in his own right. I last saw him a few years back when he was cheffing in the Kings Head. He was talking about setting up an eatery in mid Shrophire at the time. Did he anyone?  :D

Bob Skelley died several years ago, it's the anniversary of his death tomorrow.

That's a shame, the parade is a lot better than Cooneys. Although that Street needs an alternative to the usual haunts around there.
Anyone know the name of the pub he has in Rhyl?

It's the Sun, I believe.

Escape (the old Lyons Sports shop next to Hoosons Corner) in Upper Mostyn Street is now available to let at £21k per year.

I noticed that Topolinos in Upper Mostyn Street have applied for Planning Permission to operate as a Takeaway. Odd really, because according to their website, they already offer a Takeaway service there:

"Topolino Town Restaurant & Takeaway, 155 Upper Mostyn Street, Tel: 01492 868333"

Visited Cafe 101 this afternoon to partake of some hot liquid refreshment.  The first thing the new owners seem to have chosen to do after re-arranging the tables is hike up the prices.   Looks like our usual two visits each week will rapidly immediately reduce to zero.  Shame really that the exuberant presence of Pedro has gone.   I wonder what all the other "regulars" will think?    $drink$
