We then just went into the Afon Conwy and were served within 15 minutes!  Good food and good value at 2 meals for £10.

It is very good value Yorkie but I thought that offer finished at 6pm each day.

Ah! And you would seem to be correct.  A quick look at my bill has revealed that with drinks it was a smidgin over £17.00, so we must have paid normal price for fish & chips and scampi.  Still not bad value.   I must have been overcome by their large sign promoting the offer and forgot the time!    :D

The new Hambone Coffee Shop & Brasserie on Lloyd Street opened on Friday and I took the opportunity to pay it a visit this afternoon with a friend. It's all very smart inside, obviously a fair bit of money has been spent to create it. We sat in the window where space was a little bit tight, but worth it so that we could watch the world go by. Menu seemed to be focused more on snacks, sandwiches and light lunches than anything heavier, but that was fine as there was lots to choose from. Being a greedy b****r, I had one of the more expensive options - the steak sandwich with salad (£6.95), which was served on a wooden platter and was very enjoyable. I also had a Latte (£2.20) which was spot on. Certainly worth a visit!

heard today that iceland on mostyn champneys is closing in november, the staff attended a meeting before they opened yesterday and were told they are being made redundant as they can't afford the increase in rent, i am wondering if this is the same reason roseby's is closing

There isn't, actually, but Shus already had signage up so they wouldn't have needed planning permission anyway.

I'm not sure what Shus is? I couldn't see any signage in the photo indicating what the property is. Perhaps there is signage there somewhere or they have not got round to putting any up yet. Perhaps.

SHUS was the Shoe shop which occupied the building before the new Brasserie.

Thanks Fester. Do you happen to know if Ainsworths has any sinage outside?

No, they don't, they have lettering on the windows instead. All very tasteful.  ;)

I hope it is okay to put this in this section because technically it is "Shops, out of area!"
I can't wait for this shop to open. It is the new M & S store being built at Cheshire Oaks near Ellesmere Port.
The roof is amazing. It will be 150,000sq ft with 950 parking spaces. It will be their second largest UK store and is now due to open August 2012.
