That's enough foreign food! It had to be fish and chips today. They were much enjoyed at the Galleon Restaurant in Rhos on Sea.
Lovely white fish cooked fresh and very crisp batter.

Deep fried fish was introduced to the UK by Jewish refugees from Portugal and Spain in the 17th Century.  Chips originated in either Belgium or France.  Mushy peas might be British though  ;).

I understand that the new Ice Cream Parlour planned for Upper Mostyn Street will be known as 'The Looking Glass'.

It took the Lancastrians many years to cultivate the mushy pea!   How to get them out of the pods without squashing them was the problem = so the mushy pea came into existence!   ;)

You can hardly say Asda are backward with business ideas. So, when they close down completly their cafe for three weeks to modernise it, its fair to assume that it will be an improvement.
I've been in it today. Ignoring any public health issues that might have been improved, because I for one am not qualified to comment.
But, what do any of you who have been in think of it?
I know what I think. But I'll be interested to read what you all think.   Mike
