Interesting piece of info came my way today.  Dylan's restaurant of menai bridge, that was looking at Conwy for an outlet, is opening on the promenade at criccieth, in the art deco pavilion.  I know that the siting of the proposed outlet in Conwy was massively controversial, and everyone had an opinion, but some how I personally feel it a shame Conwy may have potentially lost out to criccieth.  Or may be ultimately they will do both towns, but with a different location in Conwy to the one originally proposed.

Wrex, we were walking back down Upper Mostyn Street on Saturday night after another excellent meal in "La Taverna", and heard the live music as we were passing "Dr.Jones" which sounded very interesting, but it was very full and we didn't go in. What was the name of the band or the guitarist performing there and are they there regularly?

I've heard so many good reports about La Taverna that we thought that we would give it a go tonight and we weren't disappointed.
Delicious meal, nice atmosphere and pleasant staff,  all contributed to a very pleasant evening.        $good$ $good$

North Wales becomes foodie favourite after rise in quality eating places

Once a backwater for fine dining, North Wales is now looking local to grow its reputation as a favourite for foodies. Recent years has seen a growing number of quality eating places opening up – many using the region’s outstanding local produce to give people a true taste of Wales.
The latest newcomer is American smokehouse Hickory’s which has opened with a bang in Rhos-on-Sea.

Jennie Grimes, from Hickory's, which has restaurants in Chester and West Kirby, said: “Since opening we have been very busy and enjoyed a real honeymoon period.

“People who have come here have given us great feedback and they have also told us about some wonderful other places locally, like Signatures in Conwy and Pen-y-Bryn in Colwyn Bay.

Made our debut at Hickory's Smokehouse today.... even on a Monday afternoon it was very busy.

It deserves to be, it is sensational.... loved it, and will return many times.
The decor is excellent, the service is first class, and the whole experience is authentic, a testament to the investment that has been made.

However, after all that Steak, Prawns, Ribs... and of course Beer.... I can hardly move, and I am of the opinion that all food should be BANNED now.

It just shows how you can create a really successful business if you are prepared to invest enough. Hickorys is a first class dining experience.  $good$

It must be, as it's been a while since Llandudno was in Clwyd.     You would have thought that they had checked their facts first
