Depends on how one buys and sells.  Long term investment or quick profit.  Each to his own!   ZXZ

I like excellent dividends and long term growth, that's why I invested in GVC!  ££$

Yes indeed, a name I have heard of often. Good history.  Z**

Of course, not the only company worth investing in, plenty of others out there.    ZXZ

Merddyn,
I looked into GVC when I was reading about it on here a few years back.
I ended up buying some for a punt.
My goodness, one of the best share tips I've ever known and it was for free and I have added more over the years.
Thank you whoever it was who first mentioned them!

There seems to be quite a few GVC shareholders locally, I've met a couple over the years.  $good$

I agree that Tesco, based on the performance over the past years, is definitely not an outstanding investment.  But there was the little window where there was an opportunity to make a speculative investment to achieve a short term gain. A more steady retailer is Home Retail Group who saw a drop in value on the announcement of the closure of some Homebase Stores, but then have seen a steady rise on the announcement of the new plans for the Group, which includes Argos Stores.  Definitely a better bet than Tesco!

Dunelm Mill has been a very good share over the last few years, good steady growth.

Speaking of GVC, another nice trading update and juicy dividend today announced today.  $good$

Perhaps I should move all the share related stuff into a separate 'Investments' thread.

EDIT: That's just what I've done.

Congratulations to all GVC shareholders on the Forum, as the company enters the next stage of its history with the acquisition complete of BWIN-PARTY and a move to the main market of the LSE.
