Rectory Tea Gardens, Great Orme - when did they close?
« on: February 23, 2016, 05:20:28 pm »
Hello everyone

I was in Llandudno yesterday on a nice sunny day. At the end of the day I went past the old Rectory Tea Gardens. I don't recall when these closed - earlier postings suggest that these were still open in 1984.

Just idle curiosity really - but does anyone know when they closed?

Thanks

It was c. 2002, I think.

I think they closed soon after I moved back to Llandudno in 1999. The property was sold and the new owner chose not to continue with this business. I would say they closed c2000.

It didn't heip when the Great Orme Bus stopped using the Gardens because they said the Car Park was unfit for their Coach to use and moved the stopping point to Rest and Be Thankful.
