I noticed a large plane fly over Llandudno about 30mins. ago, it seemed low, I checked on Flightradar,  the aircraft had taken off from Manchester heading for Las Vegas, reached the Irish coast, turned around, circled Anglesey a few times and headed back to Man. and landed, not the best way to start your holiday.

Thanks for that link, SDQ, looked a bit more serious than a small fault, having declared an emergency.

I suspect we're ahead of the TV and Radio news, now.

Shops may refuse to accept the old £5.00 note from Saturday as it ceases to be legal tender.          I bet there are a few people out there who are hoping that the moths haven't eaten their old fivers

I was in Chester today, and noticed two armed police officers casually walking around the centre, with those large military-style assault rifles (or whatever they are - I'm no gun expert) held across their chests as if in readiness to use.

This was in the midst of kids eating their ice creams, people enjoying the sun, etc. These police didn't look as if they'd been called out to deal with any particular scare/threat - just patrolling.

Seems really over the top to me. I can understand the need to have such officers on readiness nearby. But walking around like that unnecessarily alarming people? I don't think Britain is quite a war zone yet, is it? And given the particular nature of the threat, I doubt it makes us any safer.

It was the same old Llandudno 'faces' that they wheel out for things like this, (minus Greg Robbins)
They were talking elections, so I switched off.

Curious story about voters' Facebook feeds being targeted by "dark" ads in a marginal seat in north Wales. (I don't use F.B. myself, so never experienced this kind of thing):

We don't, mainly because FB likes collecting all the data it can on anyone. There's quite a bit on these 'dark ads' at the moment, mainly because it might actually be illegal to push ads at people but not reveal what these ads are saying. But I suspect every party is at it.
