Brexit immigration limit a 'serious threat' to North Wales hotels, say businesses
Concerns about restrictions on lower-skilled migrants have been raised in Llandudno, where 75% of the workforce are from the EU.

"If they want a skilled work force and pay minimum wage then these people are not living in reality.  If they want a skilled workforce they need to invest in training and paying for skills.  Relying on cheap imported labour has partly driven the benefit culture we have today where kids think they are too good to get their hands dirty.."

Any news on the Grand Ash? It seems to have been shut now for over a fortnight and most of the 'clutter' from the Alexander has gone from outside.

There is good news about new ownership of the Grand Ash.
I’ve been requested not to say who at the moment,  but you’ll be happy, as it’s a current hotelier of good repute.  (Not LC though)

This probably should be on the Hotel's thread, but to continue the theme, Italian restaurant chain Prezzo, earmarked for the new Tudno development is in trouble.
Prezzo set to close 100 restaurants in rescue attempt
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43232491

Prezzo pull out of move to Llandudno's Tudno Castle Hotel.

Developers of the Tudno Castle Hotel site have been forced to undergo a rethink after one of the business planned for the site pulled out.

Prezzo announced last week it had entered company voluntary agreement (CVA) - a statutory procedure designed to help a company form a compromise or arrangement between it and its creditors - and would no longer be bringing a store to Llandudno.

Despite the announcement Tudno Castle developer Opus North said plans for the site were still progressing and the search was already underway to find a replacement for Prezzo

I wonder does the eyesore need to remain an eyesore until such time as a replacement tenant is signed up?

That's a good point Bri and if the building is as unsafe as the developers allege it was,  then it needs to be demolished sooner rather than later.

I think what's worrying is that we seem to be moving into a period of more and more business closures.

I wonder why?  Because when I warned about the lack of spending and general patronage in this area, I was shouted down.
I was also confronted by lots of links to Tourism reports which fanfare the burgeoning economy in this area, it’s boom time apparently.  Hmmm.
