Art & Artists

I thought that someone might like to see this picture of Llandudno.
When I was 50 my birthday party was held in Llandudno and this was my favourite present.

I LOVE IT !!!

Especially the very realistic perspective of the pier... and the way that lamp post is the centre-piece of the work.

Ingenius, H,.. who created this?

It is an etching by Trevor Hodgkison which is still available here,

What a lovely image of Llandudno, Hollins.  I particularly like the rather reluctant looking donkey.

Llandudno on a plate!
I saw this website this morning which has a plate and a mug for sale which feature Villa Marina, Llandudno designed by Harry Whedon. They are part of a range of ceramics based on 1930's modernist seaside villas.

I went to see the Magritte exhibition at the Tate Liverpool today (thanks suepp for the tip).
Surrealism may not be everyone's cup of tea but he certainly had lots of imagination.
There were some of his hand written letters on display with doodles and sketches which were to become features in his paintings.
For me it brought back good memories of my student days!

Very much in the style of early computer graphics.

I like them too, yet ironically we try and capture every last detail with our digital cameras!  ;D

The Emperor's New Clothes once again springs to mind..... why not just have the picture as it is meant to look, rather than all the pretentious nonsense?

£60 each?  I wouldn't give them house-room.
