I don't know if they have done any renovation since you were there Fester but we were pleased with every thing there. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly and efficient and the food we had was very good. We had intended to have some meals out at Ask the Italian Restaurant by the Harbour as we had one of those tastecards that let you have two meals for the price of one but as the hotel meals were so good we didn't bother with the card.
St Nicholas (opposite the Grand) where we stayed last time we were there on a coach trip was something else. The rooms were disgusting and the evening meal inedible and that's how we found the Ask Restaurant because we had to go out for a decent meal.
Not surprisingly the place was closed down soon afterwards and there is a Travel Lodge there now.

Wow, Hugo.. that just goes to show how quickly things do change.
When we last stayed at the St Nick (as we called it), the service and food was second to none in the area.
They knew how to charge for it though!
The Grand however was going through one of its several closures and cleandowns, due to more than 100 guests being made ill by a virus.
Fester...

That's lovely, Hollins.  Even nicer than the view before the rain and snow.

Just spent a week in this lovely bungalow with a great view over to Newport and Dinas Head. We booked it through Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire and we thought it good value.

I actually found it before I read the travel post.  I did consider the place earlier but it wasn't until I found the picture with the tree in the background that I guessed it was correct.  Hope you had a great time.   ZXZ

This is the view from the room my wife booked us into last year for my special birthday.

Below is Sorrento with Mount Vesuvius in the distance.

I'd love to go somewhere like that.  Furthest I've been is Berlin lol

Fantastic view Bri, we stayed at the Capo Di Monte Hotel which I think was just below where you stayed.

Yes, that is right it is Hugo.

On a previous visit, we stayed next door at the Aminta and met a local couple staying there as well.

By coincidence, she worked at Ysgol San Sior and her husband in the Fire Service in Conwy.  :o

One of my cousins and her husband spent a couple of years in New York as he was working on a contract there.  They had an appartment in midtown Manhattan, where they were visited by quite a number of the family, including my OH and me.  This is the view from their appartment.
