:) Just been looking at the Victorian Extravaganza on google and noticed there are two special trains coming into town for the weekend, the first is a steam loco on the Saturday run by Vintage trains and the other is a diesel hauled train from Sheffield run by Statesman rail. How refreshing it is to know that this event still manages too pull in such interest, love it or loathe it where else would you see such steam traction engines and victorian funfair on the streets. ps the modern funfair pays for the whole event.

I noticed whilst walking on the Orme this morning that the much vaunted new cattle grid at the top of Happy Valley has a bit of a flaw - the pedestrian gate at the side has a gap at the bottom large enough for smaller sheep to easily push themselves through!

Live and let live Wrex, just as long as the Extravaganza continues

I forgot to mention yesterday and today....The Sheep are everwhere again.

About 40 of them with blue dye branding on them wondering around Llywynon Road on Saturday,  and today (sunday) they are peppered all around the lower slopes of The Orme.

They certainly were on Thursday.

So it appears they are on the "wrong" side of this gate. Just as well there is a gap at the bottom---perhaps one or two might find their way under whilst trying to go uphill.

A whole flock of them wandering around on the lower part of the Orme around Black Gate currently. Same yesterday but they were chased up the hill by a dog that the owner had kindly let off the lead (See other posts re Dog mess for the possible reason for the owner doing that)

Many thanks Jason,i have been trying to get any information for months and not one councillor bothered to get back to me,yet a Deganwy councillor comes up trumps, once again thanks.
I see the Cross Keys has new management again and the old Burger King store has lost its sold sign, thats a shame.
wrex,
I received an update this morning on the progress.
"Network Rail and the Council's European Funding team are currently working on a bid for ERDF funding. When this is approved Network Rail will be in a position to award a contract. It is still proposed to start work on site in the 2011-12 financila year and complete the following year."

This doesn't sound as promising as the news we had from last September which was more specific of a contract award in the Spring.

See the Local Eyesore thread which gives details of a consultation event at Venue Cymru.
