Speaking of which, I sent an email to the Town Clerk, for the attention of the Mayor, last week. I've not yet even received a confirmation the email has been received, let alone a reply.

Their IT system is s****e.  They have a major problem that they have yet to sort out.   Trouble is too many diffent outfits have been employed to look after the Hosting and maintenance.  :rage:

How would this work,to have sponsorship for the promenade gardens,Happy vallry,Haulfre Gardens, bog island, the sponsor just has to pay one private gardener for six months, seperate sponsors for each location, the town would look brilliant for 6 months of the year, cared for and proud.

Sponsorship is certainly worth considering as a way forward. If only we had a few proactive councillors willing to push such ideas forward, instead of just doing what the council officers tell them.

It all looked so much better back then! Where did it all go wrong? (still a lovely place in spite of the various council's efforts!)

You might be 'no gardener' ..... but you are one HELL of a decorator, and whatever you say, is fine by me!

If you look down the beach in the photo, you will see a series of 'Groynes ', I'm convinced that these kept the sand on the foreshore, but they were allowed to deteriorate and what we have now is the result.   &shake&

No doubt sales of buckets and spades are down recently!  Such a sad sight compared to years ago!  :(

That's a good point. How can money be found for things like this, when existing features are left uncared for?
