I've just had a look at the Marine Traffic site and a very large Royal Fleet Auxilary is passing by us right now, her name is Orange Leaf.
Trouble is we don't get to see anythong of these ships now because it looks like they have to pass the other side of the wind farm.
Here is the link for those of you who don't have it.

That's a fascinating link tosh, thanks.
I passed it on to my husband who is busy looking at all the ships as I write!

Hollins.
It isn't there at the moment but, a new destroyer, HMS Duncan has been doing sea trials coming out of Glasgow into the Firth of Clyde and Atlantic/Irish Sea.
Keep looking.
Now he will be able to tell you when the ferries are leaving and arriving at Holyhead, WOW. ;-}

Great event on the Prom this afternoon, a Zumbathon in aid of St Davids Hospice, organised by Paula & Clare from Moverz N Shakerz. Everyone had a really great time! Fester asked me to get some photos...

Zumba,  a fusion of fitness and dancing.  An exercise based on movement and latin music.

Its been around for a few years, and plays to packed houses.

Check out the Marine Traffic site, yesterday an American submarine on the surface and today a very large American Fleet Auxilary up at Firth of Clyde.

I took a look on marinetraffic.com  and stumbled across this vessel, purely by chance.

It's the Llandudno Bay, and its moored at....... GRIMSBY!

Hi Fester, there a few of these around named after our local bays, they are used as fast reponse boats for the wind farm generally.
It's nice to see our name in lights, isn't it?
I saw Trearddur Bay coming down the estuary at Conwy 2 weeks ago and Penrhyn Bay is about somewhere.
It is very interesting though.
Sometimes they have their transponders switched off especially the military.
Have you had a look at the English Channel, it is like the M6 down there.
My ambition is to see the USS Nimitz sailing up St Georges Channel.

If you get bored looking at the ships try www.flightradar24.com and you can look up and see the planes going over.  The north Wales coastline is like the M1 for traffic between the Middle East and USA !!!

DVT, I've seen that as an app for the iphone.... very addictive, as you see a plane going over at 30,000ft, who could resist having a look at where its heading?

I downloaded a similar app on my iPad (PlaneFinder HD) and found it very addictive, you see a plane in the sky and it'll tell you the type of aircraft, which airline, where it's going from & to, the speed, altitude & flight number. It covers all continents so you can look at aircraft over the US & Asia too. I'm by no means a plane spotter but I quite enjoy using the app to pass the time when I'm bored.
