If my memory serves me right there used to be wooden groynes on the North shore between the pier and Crag y don.
Are they still in place or have the "experts" ( West Shore version ) done away with them ?
If so it may explain the problems.

I can see a visitor taking a couple of steps into the water at high tide and vanishing beneath the surface. It's pretty damn steep !

A mysterious concrete platform has been installed on a section of lawn near the Pier gates - does anyone know what it is for?

I've been told it's to relocate the Morris Column https://www.google.co.uk/#q=morris+column that used to be beside where Punch and Judy puts his Kiosk.

Correct BlongB, Mr Punch and Judy himself confirmed that to me today.

Why does it need to be moved? The new area of concrete looks very unsightly and is approx 10 times the area of the old base. There are far better things that CCBC should be spending money on along the Prom - tidying up the mess that is the Prom Gardens, for example.

One of these.
Seeing ME's photo reminded me how good the old Council used to be at promoting Llandudno's various attractions. Sadly, it also reminds me how little effort is made these days....  &shake&

After Alice, according to the NWWN today, Rhos-on Sea is going to be promoted because of it's associations with the Americas. What next, Rhyl turns out to be the cradle of civilisation ?

That was in the days when Llandudno was run by a very efficient Town Clerk working for an Urban District Council made up by Councillors who knew and respected the History of the town and when locally collected revenues stayed in the town instead of being used as a cash cow to support the rest of Conwy. $angry2$

It quite likely has something to do with Leslie Nelson ("Les Battersby") who I saw talking to a film crew in the Kings Head yesterday afternoon.  Z**
