How is a Llandudno Air Show any different?

I can walk to the best viewing spots from home, even watch from the garden.

The Orme makes it different. Loads of superb viewing spots on that.

Make that Ormes and not forgetting Nant-y-Gamar either.
Then of course there is always the Prom too.
The big question is though, how to deal with the traffic if 50,000 cars turn up.
Who ever put in the proposal must have covered that issue but I'm curious to know how.

I doubt CCBC have given much consideration to parking, but as there is still time we can only hope, also the figure of 200,000 is the top estimate based on the Liverpool attendance.

Quote from Wing Commander Tracey Broome, who helps to organise the event for the Ministry of Defence praised the council’s approach to successfully bidding for the event.
“I would say it would be between 60,000 and 200,000, 60,000 because that was the smallest event we’ve had and in Liverpool this year there were 200,000 people at it.”

Because Liverpool is close, many who attended and enjoyed the event will no doubt be in a position to visit Llandudno too. I guess a large number of people will live or be staying locally, Liverpool has a population far in excess of Llandudno's but probably no more beds for guest accommodation, in fact less I would think.
This is a mega opportunity for local tourist based businesses, lets hope that the council can come up with the parking solutions as well as workable traffic management on that weekend.

I saw some videos over the weekend of work being done on Kiddies corner in the last few days, JCB and dumper trucks moving rocks etc. I am not sure what I was seeing, but this link should give you an idea.

I have heard this afternoon that Premier Inn have pulled out of the Tudno Castle site. Is this just a rumour, or has anyone else heard anything?

Are they being replaced?

New tension wires and lights going up tonight. With two cable ties per bulb it will be a long job!

BEWARE of the new 20 mile per hour speed limit on a stretch of Trinity Avenue starting and ending on either side of Ysgol Tudno.

We have all known this as a 30 limit and the new signage is not exactly "large"!

A friend of mine has recently been caught doing 25mph in the new 20 stretch. She was not aware of the change.

Apologies for the delay but here's a photograph of the new promenade lights being fitted on Wednesday night. Either by virtue of bad planning or timing they are having to leave a gap in the lights to allow the lifeboat access to the slipway. If they had waited a couple of months until the new lifeboat station was operational then the gap would no longer have been necessary.

A thing I think should be looked at is the bus bay at the start of the pier. It is now full to overflowing with vehicles and road trains - so much so when one bus wants out the two road trains need to loop around to let them pass. At the very least it needs to be widened or lengthened to work properly again. One day I saw two road trains (around the Orme and West Shore) and four buses (open top, open top ticket office, London Routemaster and the vintage bus for going around the Orme). It's great Llandudno can support so many businesses like this but the infrastructure needs to grow as well.

Yes Ormac, I have noticed this as well.  I have heard that the Open Top bus used as a ticket office (it also seems to usefully act as an informal TIC) being parked there was a reaction to the rent increase for their previous office immediately outside the pier entrance.
