Beach track plan on two of North Wales' most popular beaches agreed
The beaches will now be more accessible for people with disabilities

The computer enhanced image looks good but without sounding too negative we know about shifting sands as the people living near the West Shore know to their cost
I suppose CCBC has considered a potential problem and has plans to deal with any problems with the drifting sand?

CELEBRITY friends and fans of Monty Python have helped the fundraising appeal for a statue in Colwyn Bay reach the halfway mark.

After initial appeals from fans including Steve Coogan, Taskmaster's Alex Horne, Jo Brand and Emma Thompson, former Formula One world champion Damon Hill has joined the campaign, which can be found here.....https://www.gofundme.com/f/terryjonesstatue

Also on-board are David Bowie's son Duncan Jones, the cast of Armando Ianucci's West end production of Dr Strangelove and Abergele's Peter Bennett-Jones - the man who produced classics like Mr Bean and the Vicar of Dibley, as the total has broken the £59,000 barrier.

Sculptor Nick Elphick from Llandudno has been chosen to immortalise Jones once the funding is in place and said he feels the weight of responsibility on his shoulders.

FANS of Monty Python can now buy exclusive t-shirts to support the campaign to build a statue of Terry Jones in Colwyn Bay.

Originally designed by View Creative in Conwy to promote the launch of the Python on the Prom campaign, organisers have now made them available to buy at https://a-python-on-the-prom.teemill.com/ - along with matching tote bags - with all proceeds going towards the appeal, which is aiming to raise £120,000.

A DISCOUNT clothing outlet is set to open in Colwyn Bay's BayView Shopping Centre in the coming weeks.
The Chainstore Outlet, based in Mold, Flintshire, will open at the premises in the "next couple of weeks".

The business is owned by husband and wife Jamie and Sue Huxley, who have been trading in Mold for the last nine years.

Their expansion into Colwyn Bay is significant, given the number of businesses which have closed in the town in recent years - including Boots, Subway and high street banks Halifax and HSBC.

The Chainstore Outlet sells clothing "for all the family" at highly-discounted prices.

Its stock includes designer fashion brands like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, as well as high street retailers including M&S, Peacocks, Laura Ashley and New Look.

"We are excited to open our new premises in Colwyn Bay - we will be open every day," Shannon Huxley told The Pioneer.

"We hope that we will get support from Colwyn Bay to make this business a success like Mold is."

MONTY Python fans and celebrities have raised an astonishing £95,000 to create a statue of comedy great Terry Jones in his hometown of Colwyn Bay.

A Python on the Prom was a campaign created by Jones' children Sally and Bill Jones, the Conwy Arts Trust, colleagues at Theatr Colwyn where he was patron and the famous Pythons themselves - Sir Michael Palin, John Cleese, Eric Idle and Terry Gilliam.

The plan, supported by Conwy County Borough Council, is for Llandudno sculptor Nick Elphick to create a lasting tribute to Terry to be placed on the Prom at Colwyn Bay - the town he loved so much.

An investigation is underway after fire ripped through a residential property on the North Wales coast. The blaze broke out in Colwyn Bay on Tuesday evening, October 15.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances and an aerial ladder platform to the property on Highfield Road. Nearby residents watched on as flames leapt from the roof at the rear of the building.

Not unreasonable, with the rise in costs, the council needs to find the funds for future maintenance work.
