When members of the Llandudno Tramway Society gathered in the Imperial Hotel, Llandudno, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the opening of the tramway between Rhos-on-Sea and Llandudno on 19 October 1907, George Mellor showed a cine film of a typical kitchen-sink, eternal triangle story featuring a local drama group. It revolved around a driver on the L&CBERLtd tramway at Rhos-on-Sea. Of particular interest were the sequences of the staff moving trams in and out of the tramshed and also a splendid view of one of the 1909 4-wheel trams running along Penrhyn Avenue. Nobody knows what happened to this silent movie (duration about 15 minutes) but it is thought that it went to his surviving family. Does anyone know if the family are still around?
