I note that WR Davies in the Junction appears to have dropped the Chrysler (Jeep) agency for Renault, so now they are Ford and Renault.
According to their website the family owned company was founded at Berriw near Welshpool in 1924 and now have 5 sites including the one in LJ
- it is still a family owned company headed by managing director Jonathan Davies.

PS Ian or Dave - perhaps we should now have a thread "Everything to do with Llandudno Junction" - it is a "mecca" for car showrooms and the home of the North Wales WAG Offices amongst other things.

AND of course only this week it was reported that that famous "watering hole" ie the Station Hotel is not to be sold after all and a new landlady has been appointed.

The loss of the Chrysler franchise cannot be unexpected, sales must have been very poor. The PT Cruiser - nuff said!

It was good to see the Killer aka Station Hotel has reopened after Punch discovered that the valuation of the building was significantly less than they had imagined (I heard it had been valued at less than £500k, when they had paid well over a million for it a couple of years ago). Hopefully, the upstairs rooms will be brought back into use as it would make good budget hotel accommodation and would make it a far more sustainable business..

Yes the new landlady is Jenny Mitchell and she is quoted as saying that she is determined to put the pub back into the heart of the community.

I'm sure we wish her well.

I think apart from being the "mecca" for car sales, the Junction is also a "mecca" for fast food/takeaway outlets, and in my opinion the Jade Garden takes some beating.

The Junction is also a "Mecca"  for local Muslims, with the Canolfan Iman Centre being situated on Glyn Y Marl Road.

Once known as Tremarl, before the railway arrived, Llandudno Junction is part of the ancient parish of Llangystennin.

Llandudno Junction station opened on 1st October 1858 when it was included in the timetable for the branch (Llandudno) but not for the main Holyhead - Chester line until 30th October (for the November service). Built by the St. George's Harbour and Railway Company in 1858, this branch line heads north through Deganwy before terminating in Llandudno town. Prior to the completion of the junction station, the branch line trains from Llandudno ran through to Conway. At times the branch was worked by horses owing to financial difficulties (certainly during winter of 1862) but was permanently loco-hauled by October 1863.

The photo shows Llandudno Junction first station around 1895. Actually built by the St .George's Harbour Company, and leased to the LNWR in 1862 to be absorbed 11 years later. The shed closed in 1880 after which it was used as a carriage shed until final closure of the station and demolition.

in 1897 the present station was opened on a much larger site, the two island platforms offering six through lines with two bays at each end.

I recall in the old forum, there was an inquiry by Hugo who was in search of a hotel believed to be named the North Western. This OS map of the area from 1900 shows the Ferry Farm Hotel on one side of the crossing and the Junction Hotel on the other, with no trace of a North Western Hotel.

The stamp which was put on the front of the card is postmarked in Tooting, South West London on 3pm November 25 1907.
