This is a bit of a sad story. Mr Hollins sailed past this boat yesterday. There were people trying to off load it to try and re float it at high tide. They did this last evening but then it sank. An expensive navigational error?

A talented group of sailors from Llandudno Sailing Club has secured solid results at the Welsh youth and junior sailing championships.

Thirteen young sailors from Llandudno sailing club competed in the event, which is one of the highlights of the Welsh sailing programme.
The championships, which took place at the Welsh National Sailing Academy in Pwllheli, played host to over eighty of Wales’ most promising sailors. I will be following the Clipper round the world race starting tomorrow, a local man, friend of a friend is competing, in his early 70s, I am extremely jealous, but wish him and all the crews a safe journey.

Glan Conwy's Kevin Smith who is sailing across the world in yacht race for Abergele Eye Unit details experience so far.

A FATHER-of-two who is taking part in one of the biggest challenges of the natural world is currently in Australia.

Kevin Smith, 70 this year, is taking part in the gripping Clipper 2019-20 Round the World Yacht Race to raise funds for the Abergele Eye Unit. More than £2,000 has been raised so far.

The race involves 11 racing yachts. Kevin, of Glan Conwy, is part of the crew on Dare to Lead which is currently in seventh position overall. There are more than 50 crew onboard.
