The new sign was unveiled a year after the issue of adding a Welsh phrase to its face was discussed at Llandudno Town Council, after it became clear that the old sign was in need of repairs. Cllr Brian Bertola, chair of the town council’s decorative lighting committee, said the new sign was “in keeping” with the importance of the Welsh language to the town. He added: “We’re so pleased that a very important sign has been improved and returned.”
Cllr Ann Yates, a representative of Penrhyn ward, added: “It’ll be welcoming the tourists in Welsh and English - I’m pleased about it.”
